Health Care Update

Cindy went to the pharmacy today to renew a prescription.

We had just changed our group medical insurer and she had a new card. And they wouldn’t accept it. Something was wrong, and the system at the pharmacy kept rejecting her card.

After some time, the answer came back: Apparently, according to Geisinger Insurance, Cindy was born sometime in the mid eighteen hundreds. They had her birthdate wrong. By 100 years.

My response: if you take it all at face value, and there’s a lady standing in front of you who IS over one hundred and fifty years old, shouldn’t you assume she really, really needs medicine and hand the stuff over?
